This is what some of our clients have to say…

“The Hot Jazz Vagabonds with Airlie Scott [vocals] made their debut appearance at the Walnut Jazz Club in Blisworth recently. Ably assisted by saxophonist Sue Greenway they delighted the audience with a varied and interesting programme of French Chanson, American Songbook standards and jazz gems. The highly effective rhythm section of 2 guitars and double bass along with the sublime contribution of Sue’s languid saxophone lent itself perfectly to the dramatic and talented vocal style of Airlie Scott. The almost capacity audience loved it!”

“The Hot Jazz Vagabonds played for our special Brooklands Relived event last summer and were a great hit with crowd. Swinging music from the 20s, 30s and 40s that added to the atmosphere and perfectly suited our event. A mix of swing, hot jazz, vintage numbers which set the scene for the re-enactment of historic Grand Prix action… We can’t wait to have them back. A mix of swing, hot jazz, vintage numbers…can’t wait to have them back.”

“At last Opus One Swing Dance Club managed to persuade Airlie Scott’s Pronto Swing to come and play for dancers at our Central London venue. From their first chord to the last note the band’s joyful interpretations of the American Songbook, classic Swing numbers and other dancers favourites, as well as the title track from their latest CD – “Everybody wants to be a cat”, filled the dance floor with appreciative Lindy Hoppers and Swing dancers – young and old, new and seasoned. The upbeat energy of the musicians enhanced by the warm and assured vocal style of Airlie Scott set the hall alight! We had to let them run over time to prevent a riot! We have promised the dancers that we’ll have Pronto Swing back at the earliest opportunity (which we were planning to do anyway). What an evening! It will go down in the annals of history as one of the best nights spent out on the town!” Porl Smith, Opus One Swing Dance Club Founder, June 2018.

Comments from recent Pronto Swing gig for Cambridge Lindyhoppers Lindy Exchange October 2017:

“Thank you for a great show, we all loved the variety of songs you played- so lucky to have such talented musicians play for us live!” Cambridge Lindy Hoppers- Organizers

“Really enjoyed your set! Thanks or thinking of the tempos…some of us were exhausted so fast after fast after fast would have finished us off” Charlotte, dancer. (We played a mix of tempos- e.g.: medium, fast, bluesy, fast again!)

“Airlie sang at my 70 Birthday Lunch at Cannizaro House in Wimbledon with Johnny Holmes and his jazz trio. She was brilliant. In fact she was so good I invited her to join us at the Attic club in Canary Wharf for a Party my children were putting on for their friends to celebrate my coming of age! This time given the different audience and club ambience, Airlie had to sing pop, blues and jazz and she performed fantastically well again. Airlie is a very talented singer with a lovely personality which shines through her performances. She engages with the audience and makes everyone feel that she is singing just for them. After both Parties I received many letters of thanks complimenting me on the music and Airlie’s singing in particular.” John Power, Birthday Parties Cannizzaro House and Attic Club

Classy, sophisticated 1930’s-50’s swing jazz with soul. I have booked Pronto Jazz on a number of occasions and each time they have succeeded to surpass my expectations especially considering that 90% of the music I book for my venue is jazz. This is not just a simple jazz band that follows a list of songs to perform. This is a jazz band that will adapt themselves on the go to the variable moods of the audience to be able to continue captivating their attention and at the same time build momentum to a memorable finish.” Nolan Regent, Restaurant Manager, Brasserie Toulouse Lautrec, BTLRestaurant.com

“Airlie sang me down the aisle for our wedding in November and they performed during our wedding reception – they were great. Fabulous mix of songs and the songs they chose complimented our 1920’s/30’s theme extremely well – She has a fantasic voice and the band were greatly appreciated by all. Everything went without a hitch! ” Helena and Simon, Wedding Gig, Greenwich Maritime Museum

“How grateful I am for the performance you gave at Loch Fyne Ascot at New Year, it was amazing. The fantastic atmosphere you and your guys created and the flexibility of your performance and how you tailored it the moment made the night and it was a fantastic evening!”   Thomas -Deputy Manager Loch Fyne Restaurant, Ascot.
